James HARDICKER (1871-1919)
James Ogden HARDICKER , son of Joseph HARDICKER (1844?-1896) and Emma OGDEN (1846?- ), was born in 1871 in Ashton Under Lyne, Lancashire, England. 1 In 1881 he was resident in Levenshulme, Lancashire, England, Adlands Lane. In 1891 he was resident in Levenshulme, 93 Stockport Rd. In 1891 he was a Law Solicitors Articled Clerk. On 12 April 1893 he was a Passed the Bar exam. 2 He married Marian Rebecca COLE in 1900 in St John's Church, Blackpool. 3 In 1901 he was resident in Levenshulme, Overdale, Grange Ave. In 1901 he was a Solicitor, also Clerk to Levenshulme UDC. In 1911 he was resident in Chorlton, Lancashire, England, Overdale Grange Avenue Levenshulme. In 1911 he was a Solicitor. On 20 December 1913 he Resigned his Commission (Capt 7th Battallion Manchester Reg). 4 In 1919 he was a Soldier (Captain (Hon. Lt. Col.)) Manchester Regiment. He had the title 'Lieut-Colonel'. He died on 7 April 1919 in Conway, Wales. 5 He was buried on 10 April 1919 in Manchester Crematorium. 6

HARDICKER - On the 7th April, at his residence, Adlands, Rhos Road, Colwyn Bay. Lieut-Col. James Ogden Hardicker, aged 47 years. Cremation at Manchester Crematorium tomorrow (Thursday), 11 o'clock. No flowers.
Mr. James Ogden Hardicker (son of Joseph Hardicker, clerk to the Levenshulme Local Board), who has served his articles with Mr. Walter Andrew Jones, Kings Street Manchester, has successfully passed his final law examimations, which places him on the roll of solicitors.
